This is a very popular all-around trumpet with our clients who prefer lighter weight instruments. But with the letters "MF" in the name, let there be no mistake about it... this is by far the best trumpet for lead and extreme upper register playing we have ever made! Use it with our heavier STC-1 weight mouthpieces for classical and small group jazz work, or an "LT" or "XLT" weight lead mouthpiece to play up to double C and beyond. This model was inspired by our friend and hero Maynard Ferguson. The prototype was built for Maynard's last lead trumpet player, Patrick Hession.

This model is virtually identical to the MF STC, but made with a different bell construction that gives it a slightly more locked-in and secure response for classical, jazz and big band section players.  Almost every player - regardless of the style of music they play or the size of mouthpiece they use - loves this trumpet!

This model is now available in our threaded integral mouthpiece RAJA configuration, as well as our standard tapered mouthpiece configuration. It has a slightly thicker, richer sound than our lighter Bb's. It is more secure than conventional instruments of this weight, but versatile enough for any playing situation. The response is extremely fast, clear and percussive. Compared to our lighter MF and XLT models, the LT STC has increased stability and enhanced big-room acoustic projection. It is about the same weight as the most popular mass-produced trumpet, but with twice the sound and an extremely fast response!

This trumpet is the lightest of our "larger bell" instruments. The P3 STC and its predecessors have been used by Wynton Marsalis for his all-around playing for the last 15+ years. This model provides a huge sound, has extra large targets for fewer missed notes, and plays louder and softer than most players ever dreamed possible. The P3-STC and its variations are the most popular instruments we make, and Wynton currently plays the RAJA threaded integral mouthpiece version of this instrument. This RAJA version is so popular that for the last few years we have built more P3 STC's in RAJA configuration than with the more traditional tapered-shank mouthpiece setup. These instruments are many generations more advanced but the same weight and concept as our previous B933/993 models from 20 years ago. This model  (and so much more of everything we do here at Monette!) was inspired by Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winner Wynton Marsalis.

This instrument is similar in sound shape and concept to our P3 STC variations, but with more of everything! It is proportionally slightly heavier than the P3 STC. It is designed for players who find our sheet braced AJNA and RAJNA instruments to be heavier than they prefer, and are looking for a slightly thicker sound and more stable response than our P3 STC and its variations. This model was designed for our friend and client Clare Zempel.

RAJNA and AJNA Bb  For twenty years players have asked for a "RAJA" version of our AJNA Bb. This is it!  The RAJNA (with our threaded integral mouthpiece design) has become the most popular version of the AJNA trumpet. With the new "STC" layout and ergonomics, it is easier to hold and hear as you play, and the depth of sound and stability is beyond any of our lighter, non-sheet-braced instruments. This horn is a favorite at our shop, and the acoustic "big room" projection is simply stunning! The upper register is very easy, the response is lightening fast and the sound is rich, thick and luscious! This model is used by jazz recording artist Scotty Barnhart, Director of the Count Basie Orchestra.

Our latest, full-weight RAJA is the best ever! It is the richest, thickest, most stable and most powerful trumpet we make. This model is best for players with the most advanced sound concept, and it is not intended for use in small rooms or by players with unresolved body-use issues.
