This is the next generation of our FLUMPET (tm), an instrument invented by Dave Monette for jazz legend Art Farmer. With the addition of our threaded integral mouthpiece design, these instruments have a faster and more secure response and an even more homogenous, vibrant sound than ever before. The FLUMPET has a thicker sound than either a flugelhorn or trumpet, and the intonation, response and playing qualities of a Monette Bb trumpet on steroids! Dave Monette describes this instrument as a cross between a trumpet, flugelhorn and soprano valve trombone.
